Common questions
Can students pay in their local currency while I get paid in mine?
Yes. With Stripe, students can pay in 135+ currencies using the card or local payment method available to them, while payouts go to your own bank account in your currency. Without Stripe, students can pay through PayPal, UPI, Pix, or PromptPay in the currency supported by that provider, with funds going directly to your own account.
Which payment methods can I offer students?
Use Stripe for global cards and supported regional methods, including PayNow in Singapore, FPX in Malaysia, GrabPay in Malaysia and Singapore, Cash App Pay in the US, Alipay and WeChat Pay for eligible businesses and customers, and wallets such as Google Pay and Apple Pay where available. PayPal is a global alternative. You can also connect your own UPI account in India, Pix account in Brazil, or PromptPay account in Thailand for direct-to-you payments. Stripe payment-method availability depends on the connected account, country, currency, and Stripe configuration.
Does Stripe support PayNow, Cash App Pay, Alipay, or WeChat Pay?
Yes, Stripe supports these methods through Connect and Checkout in eligible markets: PayNow for Singapore, Cash App Pay for US customers, and Alipay or WeChat Pay for eligible businesses and customers. Availability is controlled by Stripe and can vary by connected-account country, customer country, currency, and payment-method configuration. DuitNow is not currently listed in Stripe's payment-method support matrix, so ClassOps does not advertise it as a Stripe option.
Do I need a foreign bank account, and does ClassOps hold my money?
No. You connect your own Stripe or PayPal account, or use your own UPI, Pix, or PromptPay account. Payouts go directly to you; ClassOps never holds or pools your funds.
Can I record cash and bank transfers too?
Yes. Record cash and bank transfer payments manually, mark fees paid or pending, and keep them in the same per-student payment history as online payments — no separate spreadsheet.
Do students in different countries use different payment setups?
No. The same checkout link or invoice works for every student, wherever they are. Each payment lands in the same student record and unified payment dashboard.
What fees apply, and can I start without connecting an online account?
Fees depend on the payment method. Stripe charges its own processing fees and ClassOps applies a small platform fee, shown before you connect. PayPal, UPI, Pix, and PromptPay may also charge their own provider or bank fees; ClassOps bills its convenience fee monthly for these direct-to-you methods instead of deducting it from the payment. There are no setup fees or monthly minimums. You can start with manual cash or bank transfer tracking and connect an online method later.
Can students in India pay for classes with UPI?
Yes. Students in India can pay in INR through your own UPI account using a QR code or payment link, including from UPI apps such as BHIM, PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, and other UPI apps. You do not need Stripe for UPI, and ClassOps never holds the funds.
Can students pay with Google Pay or Apple Pay?
Yes. When you connect Stripe, students can pay through supported digital wallets such as Google Pay and Apple Pay alongside cards and other available payment methods. Availability depends on the student's country, device, wallet, and Stripe Checkout eligibility.
Can students in Thailand pay for classes with PromptPay?
Yes. Students in Thailand can pay in THB through your own PromptPay account using a Thai QR code or payment link. You do not need Stripe for PromptPay, and payment is confirmed by a screenshot or manual mark-as-paid.
Can students in Brazil pay for classes with Pix?
Yes. Students in Brazil can pay in BRL through your own Pix account using a BR Code QR code or copy-paste payment link. You do not need Stripe for Pix, and ClassOps never holds the funds.
